When Jay was asked to come into the schools to share a bit about being a luthier with area fifth graders, he loved the idea. As the Artist in Residence for March at OP Earle School in Landrum Jay will be giving some lucky fifth graders a look inside guitars and inside the craft of being a luthier. By combining a hands-on experience of guitars in construction with the students, a slide show presentation and a bit of live music it should be a fun and inspiring class. He recently played a selection of Lichty handcrafted guitars and ukuleles at a school function and will be at the school on March 24th for a follow-up concert, in addition to his class time.
