Jay currently builds Tenor and Baritone Ukuleles. While the majority of the Lichty instruments are built for custom orders, this is the page where you will find a limited selection of handmade ukuleles available for immediate sale. What is really special about these “non-custom” instruments is that Jay worked in the shop building each with whatever combination of woods and designs he felt personally inspired to craft. (There are no “standard Lichty models” to choose from.) The results are always heirloom quality instruments that are stunning visually and acoustically.

My custom ukulele is absolutely exquisite in every respect and has far exceeded all of my expectations! The tonal quality is breathtakingly sweet and clear yet there is considerable depth and sustain. Likewise, I am ecstatic about the design and attention to detail in the finishing. From a fingerstyle perspective, the action is an absolute dream! Garth Mercer
I received my custom tenor ukulele from Jay Lichty of Lichty Guitars several weeks ago and I have to say it is my favorite sounding and playing uke of my collection. It’s a masterpiece in workmanship and sound. I love it! – JulieStrietelmeier. UkuleleReview.com
If you want a luthier-built instrument that is made to last, take a serious look at Jay Lichty’s ukuleles. This is a custom-made uke that you won’t have to treat with kid-gloves. This is a working musician’s ukulele. A Jay Lichty uke would be a great addition to anyone’s collection.- Mickey Maguire, Ukulele Player Magazine
I knew when I saw your website and the Baritone Brazilian Rosewood and Spruce, that this was the Holy Grail of Ukuleles, and I was right. I am very happy with everything you have done on this instrument. It has more than met my expectations. The action is right on, as is intonation. The attention to detail is perfect as is the woods. I could go on and on, but I think you know what I mean. Thanks for a great experience.
Best regards, Leland F.Hansen, D.D.S. Brazilian Rosewood Baritone Ukulele

Custom Ukulele Jay built for himself!
I’m thankful that this has been such a brilliant collaboration. Your willingness to work with me every step of the way on the design has resulted in a one-of-a kind slotted peghead tenor ukulele that has elegance, artistic beauty, incredible sustain and the pure voice of an Angel that, in my opinion, is second to none. – Paul Ruben
