Community Potluck at the Saluda Community Center will feature live music by Jay
The Saluda Center will have their monthly Community potluck on Thurs. June 30. The potluck begins at 6:00 p.m. and the entertainment for the evening will be Jay Lichty.
Jay Lichty has been a musician all his life. Whether it’s the banjo, guitar, mandolin or the ukulele-as long as it’s got strings you can find him playing it.
He has been a part of the local music scene for years. In the early days he was known for his hot licks on the banjo in bluegrass bands. More recently he could be seen on stage with Cat’s Eye Blue, The Jay Lichty Band and The Lone Derangers. Now, as a solo performer, Jay brings his own style of music to the spotlight- an eclectic mix of original songs and instrumentals along with creative renditions of old favorites. What makes an evening of Jay’s entertainment truly unique is that the instruments he plays are all handcrafted by him. He is a guitar-builder (www.lichtyguitars.com) by day and a musician by night, so it is the perfect fit.
Please bring your favorite dish and enjoy an evening of music with old friends and make some new friends. All are welcome to attend.
