Here is what Kimo had to say about his first Lichty ukulele encounter:
“I just had an opportunity to play a Lichty ukulele in concert during my recent trip to British Columbia, Canada. I absolutely love this baritone ukulele! The tone is well-defined, it blends well with a very mellow sound. The intonation is very good. The touch on the uke feels right with a combination of the fretboard proportions and dimensions of the neck. I also like the feel of the body. The style of this uke Is very aesthetically pleasing with a classic, comfortable look to it. I am also partial to the design feature for this particular uke of threading the strings through the bridge rather than wrapping, or pinning them. Finally, the finish on this uke is very meticulous. Overall, from sound, to playability, to appearance, I give high marks for this instrument crafted by Jay Lichty!” – Kimo Hussey, Hawaiian master ukulele player and instructor.
