Building a Custom Brazilian Rosewood Guitar
Every custom guitar and ukulele begins with a conversation. Jay meets with the new client, either here at Lichty Guitars or via phone and the internet. Through this discussion Jay is able to get a feel for the style of player they are, the aesthetics they are after and the voice they hear when imagining their custom Lichty. When they live close by they have an opportunity to come play any of the instruments we have on hand. They determine which neck feels the best, what details they like most, what style/size instrument is ideal and more. It is in the context of this design conversation that the real relationships begin, between luthier and musician and between luthier and musician and instrument.
This is exactly how one of Jay’s latest projects began. He is building a custom Brazilian rosewood guitar. It is a special birthday gift given from a wife to a husband and Jay is honored to be a part of this celebration.
Features: Dreadnought body style. Brazilian Rosewood back, sides and headplate, Adirondack spruce top, mahogany neck, koa binding, pearl rosette
