Guitar Artwork Exhibit - Birds of a Feather Opening Night
When three incredibly talented guys got together to throw a party as a kick-off for a summer-long art exhibit - wow! was the word most often spoken throughout the evening. It's become an annual tradition for artist Clark Hipolito to have a summer show in Wilmington, NC at Deluxe, a beautiful restaurant in the downtown historic district. This year his artwork is being displayed not only on canvas but on Lichty Guitars and Allison surfboards. It is a real treat to be a part of this collaboration and the collection...

Custom Pau Ferro Guitar Makes Guitar #4 For Happy Customer
Bill Miller came by the shop last week just in time to put the finishing touches on the design for his custom Pau Ferro Guitar. It was wonderful to get in a visit and Bill is frankly becoming a pro at this. Lichty Guitars that Bill currently owns: a Honduran Mahogany Dreadnought, a Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought (one of my all time favorite Lichty Guitars!) and a custom Patchwork Parlor Guitar (I admit this is another one of my all time favorites).
Bill and Jay work seamlessly together. Bill knows what he wants and brings great...
Ukulele Repair and Restoration at Lichty Guitars
Yesterday we had the good fortune to make a new friend, discover new uke music and drool over a vintage instrument in need of some gentle touch and repair. Singer, songwriter and ukulele player Denise Ostler came by the shop in need of a master luthier's skills. Denise has two beautiful vintage instruments and came to Lichty Guitars shop to see about having Jay get them in top playing shape.
These old instruments of hers ... ah, the stories they could tell. Jay looks forward to the task of getting their voices in line with their...
Geoff Achison's Custom Acoustic Guitar
Download Press Release
Though Geoff Achison spends most of his year burning up the pavement and playing music to sold out crowds in his homeland of Australia, his devoted fans state-side get really excited as the summer rolls around because he heads our way on tour. Here at Lichty Guitars we've had an extra reason to anticipate his arrival.
Since early in the year Geoff and Jay have been tossing ideas and specs back and forth for Geoff's very special custom guitar. A few days ago we had the extreme pleasure of meeting Geoff in Atlanta and delivering the guitar....
Lichty Guitars interview with Richard Green
I recently had the pleasure of a mini tour through the people and places of the Carolinas thanks to Richard Green and Times Warner. It began when I watched a video Richard produced about a really interesting man by the name of Martin Hill whose hobby is collecting vintage film cameras. Just a simple cool piece about a guy that you'd like to sit down and chat with about his love of cameras and "old-style" movie making. The feature had a "plug up a chair" kind of feel and it led me to look up what else Richard has been capturing on video.
