Looking for a Custom Left-Handed Guitar or Ukulele?
We get frequent inquiries about custom left-handed guitars and ukuleles. It seems not many luthiers build left-handed custom instruments. In terms of construction, the difference between a right handed and left handed ukulele or guitar comes down to the bracing and bridge and saddle. Jay hand-carves the bracing for the top and this bracing is reversed for a lefty. The angle of the bridge and saddle are also reversed.
If you are interested in a custom left handed guitar or uke a great place to start is looking over our info on the custom guitar or custom ukulele pages. You can see all of the available options and too, get an idea on pricing. Feel free to contact Jay anytime as he would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.

One of the most talented left handed guitar players we know of is Billy McLaughlin. We say “left handed” but Billy has developed such a unique style of play that left-handed doesn’t seem to fit. The evening Billy picked up and played a Lichty was truly memorable!
