Note: Before placing an order for a custom gift certificate we invite you to look at the handmade acoustic guitars and handmade ukuleles we have in stock.

Here is how it works:

• Contact Jay via email or phone to discuss this special purchase. You may choose a gift certificate based on any amount you would like to spend and the options you would like to have available (beginning price is $2750 for custom ukuleles and $4000 for custom acoustic guitars). Please look to our Customize Your Own Guitar page to learn about the available options and to the Custom Guitar Price Calculator for approximate cost.

• We will send you a Gift Certificate via mail or email made out to your loved one, along with an order form with available options (based upon the amount of your gift) to choose from.

• The recipient contacts Jay to begin the design process.

• Upon completion, the recipient receives a Lichty Custom Instrument designed for them and signed by the luthier and a few images of their instrument being built. (An optional CD with a slideshow of images of the construction from start to finish is available)

Fine Handcrafted Acoustic Guitars

Average prices (including guitar case and shipping)  range from $4000 for a traditional Mahogany or Indian Rosewood guitar to $6500 for a Brazilian Rosewood Guitar with options. Private Reserve sets of wood with multiple options, a professional grade guitar case, and a slideshow of images from start to finish with the soundtrack played on the completed instrument: approximately $8000.

Features included for the Traditional $4000 model:

• Selection of the following types of wood for back and sides: Honduran or African Mahogany, Sapele, Black Walnut, Curly or Ambrosia Maple, Indian Rosewood
• Engelmann or Sitka Spruce top
• Wood binding (up-charges on some exotic woods apply)
• Herringbone or wood rosette  (up-charges on some exotic woods apply)
• Ebony or Indian rosewood fretboard and bridge
• Grover Sta-tite tuners

Fine Handcrafted Ukuleles

Ukulele prices (including hard-shell case, instrument stand and shipping) start at $2750. Private Reserve sets of wood with multiple options and a slideshow of images from start to finish with the soundtrack played on the completed instrument: inquire for pricing.

• Choice of Mahogany, Indian Rosewood, Beech, Walnut, Maple, Bubinga, Purple Heart, Black Limba back and sides (choose from available stock)

• Ebony Fretboard
