Luthier Spotlight – Peter Robson Guitars
I have decided that 2015 is going to be our year to celebrate the Lichty Guitars’ Family! Our concept of family is big! It stretches from all of the folks who own and play Lichty guitars and ukuleles to everyone who has taken a guitar or ukulele building workshop to folks we collaborate with (from Hawaii Music Supply to Rubner Tuners and on) and of course, to folks we love in the world of luthiery. Folks in our family are awesome !

We are beginning an adventure this week with Fretboard Journal as one of their field editors, John Thomas, comes to build his first guitar and to document the crafting of it via FJ website. With that in mind, I am kicking off this love-fest by spotlighting folks who have taken workshops or who are our luthier friends.

The greatest gift of our Lichty Guitars’ adventure has been the extraordinary folks we have gotten to know. They are generous, talented, big-hearted – each and everyone of them. Peter Robson embodies this and more and he is making a name for himself crafting lovely instruments. When Jay and Peter get together they take “shop talk” to a whole new level!
Peter Robson, SC Guitar Builder
I met Jay during my 1st guitar building class with Gerald Anderson, Jay helped the entire class by agreeing to spray for us.I absolutely fell in love with guitar building (nearly 4 years ago) and have built in my spare time ever since. Jay and Corrie befriended me in the most loving manner and patiently offered suggestions, helped me on the kinks and even allowed me to assist during Jay’s first group class. In the next 2-3 years, I am hopeful to be in a position to build full time. Meanwhile, I am enjoying, meeting new people and loving all that the luthier world offers.[br]
