Handmade Guitars and Photography
We know that Nancy MacDonald is an incredible massage therapist because Jay and I frequently enjoy the benefits of her work!. We discovered that she has great eyes which translates into her being an amazing photographer. This past Saturday we learned one more thing about Nancy. She is a great host for a fun event!
A standing-room-only crowd gathered at Nancy’s Healing Arts Institute in Hendersonville, NC on 2/12. This collaborative event featured an opening of Nancy’s photographic works, a collection of Lichty handcrafted guitars & ukuleles to be picked up and played and a house concert by Jay. It was wonderful to see old friends, meet new ones, to enjoy the gallery feel of the place given the beautiful photography on the walls and hear tunes played on Lichty’s from all corners of the house by great musicians.
How to describe Nancy’s photography? What comes to mind when I see each image is that I find myself wanting to be right there, in the spot and in the moment when the shutter clicked. It’s about an emotional connection. Somehow I sense the thrill Nancy felt when she knew she was capturing a magical moment. I think that is the definition of great photography.
We are so very grateful to Nancy, Chris and to everyone who worked hard to make it a special event and afternoon. We look forward to many more collaborations and lots of fun to come!

______________
Sometimes you meet someone, and you know instantly that you have made a heart connection. Such was my experience when I met Corrie Woods and Jay Lichty at the Lake Eden Arts Festival in October 2010. Since then I have had the pleasure of working with them in a variety of ways, including a collaborative event entitled Meet the Luthier: An Afternoon with Lichty Guitars. I hosted this event at my Healing Arts Center in Hendersonville, and was thoroughly impressed with the outcome. Corrie was an absolute delight to brainstorm with and has an amazing ability to put together a very professional and polished marketing strategy. On the day of our event, Jay and Corrie arrived early and went to work. What fantastic teamwork! Jay’s instruments are beautiful, and he was delightful. His performed brought round after round of well-deserved applause. Corrie and Jay bring with them a very authentic presence, and I very much look forward to the next opportunity to collaborate with them. – Nancy MacDonald
